Meet my good friend, Jeanne. She’s my BFFF (Best Fondue Friend Forever) which may sound super lame to you- but that’s just because you’re jealous. How could you not be? I mean really, it involves, melted cheese and chocolate from the Melting Pot. Everyone needs a good BFFF! Hmm clearly I shouldn’t write blog posts while I’m hungry.
So back to the point of this post- We took Jeanne’s pictures a few weeks before Christmas. Since it was freezing outside we opted to do them in the warmth of her bedroom while jamming to Christmas music. Jeanne is beautiful and had such a perfect little round tummy. We also snuck in a couple family pictures as well and got some very sweet shots of big brother with his mommy.
Baby Ian was my first attempt at a newborn shoot (other than my own kids) and he didn’t want to make it easy on me that’s for sure! As adorable as this sweet baby is he made it very clear that he didn’t wish to be bothered for a photo shoot. After several hours of trying to coax him back to sleep we were able to get a few, very sweet pictures of him. Since his mother is a talented pianist I thought it would be fun to have Ian in front of the piano….lets just say Ian wasn’t a fan of that idea!
Did you know: That newborn pictures are best done before they are 2 weeks old? If you are having a baby soon keep this in mind- babies tend to develop baby acne after about 2 weeks, they also become more awake and thus become less cooperative. Your baby changes so quickly! The newborn stage is so brief so make sure to capture it, even if you don’t hire a professional get that camera out and snap away!
A few months ago we headed to Wheeler Farm for some fun fall pictures of the Bott Family. The weather was perfect so it was no surprise that every family in Utah was there that day for the same reason! It was a challenge fighting the crowds for good spots but in the end we succeeded and ended up with some great shots.
I always like the seniors to bring something to their shoot that represents them. Lara lives by me so I know her a little bit and the one thing I know about Lara is she is a Harry Potter fan, I mean she is a HUGE Harry Potter fan! So incorporating Harry Potter gear into her pictures only seemed to make sense 🙂 We just ran over to the park by my house for these pictures and were able to get a variety of shots all in one perfect location.
So many great vendors have collaborated to give a FREE WEDDING (see contest here) so we wanted to get a few of them together in one beautiful setting for a photo shoot. We did the shoot at Manderley Reception Center in Provo, Utah. The gorgeous flowers were provided by, Sweet Pea Floral and Gift, in American Fork. The cake with the amazing sugar flower was created by, Cassidy Budge Cake Design. The unique picture of the thumbprint tree was made by, Imprint your Love. The models were: Jessica Millar (also owner of, Imprint Your Love) and her handsome hubby, Rich Millar. Hair and make up was done by the very talented, Megan Holt. Love her necklace? It had been storming for days before Star and Aaron’s wedding. I was really worried that the weather wouldn’t cooperate but the day of their wedding the clouds parted, the sun came out and it couldn’t have been more perfect. These two are crazy about each other and were so sweet together! They are such a great couple and I am so glad I was able to be there to capture their wedding! Happy one month anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Rose!
A couple weeks back I had the privilege of meeting gorgeous Sam and taking her senior pictures up at Silver Lake. The weather was perfect the scenery gorgeous and Sam was so fun and easy going. Sam is so beautiful and I couldn’t help but be envious of her lips- check them out, very Angelina Jolie like 🙂
Danny and Katie were married at the Salt Lake Temple and then had a beautiful reception at Cactus and Tropicals in Draper. I loved that their reception was a small(ish) event where they had a catered meal with their closest family and friends. They gave speeches, mingled, and ate delicious food. It was a relaxed and enjoyable evening for everyone. Cactus and Tropicals is such a stunning venue, I mean it’s a tropical greenhouse so how could it not be!? I have LOVED getting to know Danny and Katie over the last few months. They are such a great, fun couple and I wish them all the happiness in the world! Congrats you guys!
Utah is a photographers dream. It offers so many different looks from the arches down in southern utah to the salt flats, barns and pastures, lakes, downtown/urban, to our beautiful tree covered mountains. Aaron and Star wanted to embrace the natural side of Utah so we headed up to Big Cottonwood Canyon, right next to Solitude ski resort, to capture these gorgeous images. These two were so sweet together and wanted to cuddle and kiss the whole time, I love it!
